Realizing his dream of being a DJ as kid growing up in Chicago, but officially putting his dream into motion in his early 20’s after moving to Atlanta, Tom Insixiengmay became known as Insix. He draws inspiration from artists such as: Kaskade, Skrillex, Tommy Trash, Nicky Romero and he mixes his own version of house, electro, progressive, and a little bit of moombahton to create his own sound.
He started off practicing in his bedroom to opening up for the America’s Best Dance Crew’s, Kaba Modern, at Club Kiss in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2008. Since then his sound has progressively matured and he has played gigs at clubs throughout Atlanta. It took a few years to find the right sound that suited him.
After finding his sound, he made a combat and debuted his talent at ‘The Quad’ in 2012 with rising violinist, D-Sharp, not once but twice. Tom’s ability to collaborate with D-Sharp not only showed his creativity, but his ability to transition and adjust with all types of genres/music. After seeing his talent, promoters asked him to be the open performer for Dayglow at a local club, Wild Bills, in Atlanta.
But his once in a lifetime, memorable experience came when he was given the opportunity to spin at Atlanta’s number one nightclub, Opera, in 2013. Spinning at Opera only enhanced his determination to improve his sound and work just as hard to one day show the world that being a DJ is not just a hobby, but his passion.
