Not to sound too highbrow, but we called this about a year ago when InternetDJ covered the original single release. To quote, well, me, "the single (and the greater album) will go far in the states." Nearly one year after publishing our article on David Guetta's Pop Life album and Love is Gone single release in the US, his music is finally starting to catch on. Mr. Guetta is a multi-million record selling producer in Europe, but has only recently seen the North American market catch on to the fervor. Virgin originally had the US release back in June '07, but Ultra Records then picked it up in October.
"Love Is Gone" has crossed over to the mainstream. It is currently charting at major Top 40 radio stations throughout the country, namely the largest in the US, Z100 in NYC, placing in at number 7. "Yeah, some DJs say pop is a dirty word, but I’m trying to be different." he says. “Of course dance music is pop music. I'm always faithful to my community, but this album also has big, quality pop melodies. It's the best album I've produced. I'm really happy and proud of it.”
