Paul and Wayne from the Soul Avengerz tell us about their new single 'Don't let the morning come' featuring Javine that is out now on Positiva Records.
1. What made you decide on working with Javine for this single?
Paul: We had worked on a remix project for Javine and knew she had a great voice. After getting to know her we found out she was really into house music and really wanted to make a house record with us, so we played her the instrumental and she absolutely loved it and the rest is history.
Wayne: Loved the look of her legs and she won rear of the year, so enough said there. No seriously she has a great voice and a commercial crossover we were missing.
2. Tell us about the video for the single Ė was it fun to make?
Paul: For me and Wayne it was very surreal as we have never been on a video shoot before, so it was a lot of fun and a great experience. We only have a small part in it, so we had a lot of time to observe and take it all in.
Wayne: Great fun apart from being couped up with Paul all day, but lovely make up girls making a fuss over me was wonderful.
3. Who is doing the remixes of the track?
Paul: Well we had a wide range of mixes which was really cool, ranging from straight up funky house from Raul Rincon to mad bleepy acid house from Claude von stroke
Wayne: There were also mixes by Kurd maverick and us!
4. Where did the idea of the song come from?
Paul: The song was written by a fantastic topline writer Shena who also wrote Ďthe weekendí for Michael Grey Ė her brief from us was happy feel good house music
Wayne: It was one of mine and Paulís all time favís that we did a while ago, but only came back to it recently.
5. Whatís next for you production and tour wise?
Paul: We have been inundated with remix offers from the likes of M.O.S, APOLLO, HED KANDI, ART AND CRAFT etc, so we havenít had much time to work on the follow up, which really is something we will be concentrating on very soon.
Wayne: We will be in Ibiza for NYE, then we are off to Australia in Jan and all currently playing all over Europe and the uk. We are also working on our next single and are remixing like itís going out of fashion!
