Electronic Performers Score Coveted Space on 2007 Coachella Line-up
Is Coachella the Urbane Ibiza?

For an event that almost wasn't after just first and second round
attempts, the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival has established
itself as a truly road trip-worthy experience. Forget tickets (which go on sale tomorrow morning) being in high demand, the line ups have been so impressive in years past that performers better have their asses on the festival's roster if they plan to get any press during the month of April.
2007's headliners Rage Against The Machine, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Bjork will be joined by a host of eclectic musical acts, many of whom belong to the electronic community. Paul Van Dyk, Ritchie Hawtin, Felix Da Housecat, Digitalism, Benny Benassi, Dave Guetta, Tiesto, MSTRKRFT and DJ Heather will share the stage with hip-hop and alternative rockers like DJ Shadow, The Black Keys, Kaiser Chiefs, Crowded House, Fountains of Wayne, The Roots, Damien Rice, Rufus Wainwright, Sonic Youth and countless others.
Set to run from April 27 through April 29, the recently expanded three-day event will again be held at the Empire Polo Fields in Indio, California. Sun, stellar scenery, and a civilized crowd have also become part of the draw. Concert-goers are invited to camp out in the desert setting, enjoy art exhibitions and three days of highly concentrated musical genius, with dance and electronic making up a noticeably larger portion of this year's talent.
