Childhood friends from Montreal, Patrick Gemayel and Macklovitch aka P-Thugg and Dave 1 describe themselves as the "only successful Arab/Jewish collaboration since the beginning of time." Two of the biggest lunch boxes on the planet have been gaining a strong following as the electro funk collaboration Chromeo.

Their 2004 album "She's In Control" released via Turbo Records gave us overlooked hits like "Needy Girl", "Rage!" and "Woman Friend". While their 2007 album "Fancy Footwork" released via Vice Records, the duo was able to flex their funk muscles to produce the monster hit Fancy Footwork, which has music fans of all followings cutting a rug.

Calling themselves a success is an understatement. Both albums include a series of top drawer videos that reaffirm this new birth of cool. Their seamless blend of smooth jazz, electro beats, crazy guitar and rhyme time flow is a recipe for something all its own. Only time will tell as to whether or not they have the stamina it requires for the longevity they have the potential for. They currently re-released the Fancy Footwork albums to include various remixes and collaborations with other current artists including DJ Mehdi and Laidback Luke.

Dave 1 in his spare time is earning his Ph.D in French Literature as well as teaching undergrad French classes at Columbia University. The tracks Opening up (Ce Soir On Danse) and Ah Oui Comme Ca are all starting to make sense now. Both albums are 100% perfect for some Bonafied Lovin'. Funky jams are the key to healthy living and Chromeo produces them in spades.
