Back to the beginning.
The Black Eyed Peas are back in action with their latest album, The Beginning, available in stores today (November 30). This marks the Peas’ sixth album, and follows their 2009 album, The E.N.D., which ruled Billboard charts with hit singles “Boom Boom Pow,” “I Gotta Feeling,” and “Imma Be.”
The Beginning has been generating a lot of buzz from critics, who might not think it matches the caliber of The E.N.D., but are positive about the new collection of tracks. Entertainment Weekly, in a B+ review, said “The Peas may not have dramatically outdone themselves this time, but they've succeeded at keeping the good times rolling yet again.” A review from the The New York Times concurred, stating “The Beginning is a much lesser record than The E.N.D., and yet it isn't boring, even when the echoes of old songs are more than echoes."
The album features the hit new single The Time (Dirty Bit), which they recently performed at the American Music Awards. Looking ahead, the Peas are set to perform at the 2011 Super Bowl halftime show on February 6th in Dallas, Texas.
