A date has been set for DanceStar USA, The Third Annual American Dance Music Awards. The event will take place for the second year at Ocean Drive on the sands of Miami's South Beach on Tuesday 9th March 2004 at 6pm. More details here.
The 2003 event was broadcast in 54 countries worldwide making it the largest televised dance music event in the world seen by over 800 million viewers on channels including MTV Europe, Star TV and Channel 4 in the UK. In September this year the US broadcast of the show was aired by Music Choice as part of the Music Choice Concert Series in over 30 million households across the country.
Andy Ruffell, CEO and Founder of DanceStar said: "The growth of DanceStar USA since we launched the show in 2002 has been incredible, and for 2004 we will be further crossing electronic music into the mainstream with a major focus on collaborations between chart stars and DJ's / dance acts like we did last year with Bootsy Collins and Dirty Vegas. Recent Grammy Award winner Roger Sanchez and Hollywood actresses Juliette Lewis and Roselyn Sanchez hosted the event in march 2003, With every major international DJ attending together with some Hollywood celebrities and stars from the entertainment world. The spectacular show included performances from Rap superstar P.Diddy who chose the DanceStar USA stage to premier a worldwide exclusive performance of his track 'Lets Get Ill' which features Kelis. Paul Oakenfold and Dirty Vegas with Bootsy Collins also performed and scooped multiple awards.
In March 2004 DanceStar USA will launch the first annual magazine of The American Dance Music Awards. The 100-page pocket-sized publication supporting the event will act a showcase to all thatís good in American dance music. The magazine is being produced by DanceStar's Ben Turner Ė founder / editor of Muzik and Pacha magazines. Over 60,000 copies will be distributed free to Borders stores nationwide from March 1 Ė April 1. A further 20,000 copies will be distributed in South Florida during the annual Winter Music Conference event.
