Slide guitarist Debashish Bhattacharya, and his tabla-playing his brother Subashish will present an evening of Hindustani guitar music. This Grammy-nominated artist is one of Indias most esteemed musicians and has performed with musicians such as Derek Trucks, Jerry Douglas and John McLaughlin. Debashishs music, spirit, and generosity have won him new admirers and devotees around the world and we are thrilled to have him open our tenth anniversary festival.

I was born in Hamburg / Germany in 1968. My father was Hungarian from Ballaton. Financing his studies he was playing piano, saxophone and guitar in different bands. My mother, born German sang successfully in several choir, who produced MC / LP. They received many awards.
Aged eight, i started learning clarinet playing in a Country . was member of an Orchestra. This time I discovered to play guitar, took my fathers instrument and started to sound.
I was sixteen years old, when I got member of my first band. The first Gig happened in a very narrow garage - it was great. From this time on, playing in different bands, more and more i'm realising my own style.

On his 14 song CD "Guitar Light" he plays guitar, keyboards, bass, and drums, along with producing, and mastering the CD. Guitar Nine Magaine wrote -Jelinek features his guitar playing in some fashion on every cut, something you don't hear in a lot of contemporary, radio-styled tunes. A lot of the instrumental music would fit perfectly as soundtrack music, for film or television - it's got that evocative feel that would suit dramatic or suspenseful material well. Jelinek's also got a really smooth electric guitar style that listeners should find appealing.

His father, a Hungarian from Ballaton, financed his studies playing piano, saxophone and guitar in several bands. His German mother sang in several choirs and produced their recordings. Both parents received awards for their music efforts. At the age of eight, Attila began his clarinet studies, and by thirteen, he was a member of an orchestra. Attila later picked up his father's guitar and taught himself how to play, joining his first band at age sixteen. ( From 1984 -1986 studium to Peter Conelius Conservatorium to germany and From 1986-1989 BERKLEE | Berklee College of Music ) up to he finished his music school studies in classical guitar, and continued further studies attending many workshops and seminars. From 1990 until 2003 Attila taught guitar classes at the Country Music School at as Dozent to Hamburg Germany. During that period he worked on several studio projects and presented guitarists at the Music Mess Worldwide. In 2000 he began his composing and recording efforts. He has since learned how to play keyboards.
