we should only chat about music. audio and the biz. if you want to chat about war\'s other then rap battles then we can go chat on a site for that. i come here to live music not to have people in your face about shit. i want to review. or have a heated discussion about music. its idj were music lives breaths and most times die\'s lol. its a free world but we should live music here thats just IMO

the section with the second highest posts is the jokes humour and junk section, although that holds the million post thread, the combined number of posts in the miscellaneous section is over 11 thousand. Then there are the posts in the general discussion...Steve Irwin thread or some crappy I’m new here thread, there’s hundreds.
so where is the cut off point, just to finish this topic off and make sure everyone is clear I mean, here’s a scale and someone say where it should end (the dotted line - where music discussion ends).

i find it irritating that so many say things like \"music is what we are here to share, not religion or politics\". as someone else pointed out already, religion and politics are huge influences for many musicians. there are songs about everything on earth, and there are songs FOR everything on earth. there are songs for sex, for ritual, for hate, for everything.
to say that heated religious or political discussions are irrelivent to music is as offensive to me as almost anything i might say about either of those subjects might be to someone else.
i grew up in the midwest where these topics often dominate lives in a very backwards way. extreme, fanatical, religious zealotry has molded who i am and plays a huge role in my artistic expression.
i enjoy very much writing music that expresses just how frightening these people can be.
i am not saying that nothing should ever be locked by mods but i think that a good, even ugly debate about politics nd religion can easily play a huge role in musical influence.
i find music that is about things like kittens, love and cotton candy to be quite dull in most cases. i like to be exposed to the deeper perils of the minds within other\'s heads. i even like to be offended by the ideas of others, because the heated feeling inside me when that happens makes me feel very much alive. then i am inspired to produce something that might change the mind of someone or at the very least make the opposite view seem far less intelligent. something like that.
i am not arguing with the censorship or lack thereof on idj. lock them up if you have to, just realize that to say these topics have no meaning to music may only be true for your music but not for every one elses. -
