The End by EGIV |
| One listen. One time. That is all it will take to win you over. EGIV opens his track entitled "The end" with a harmonious signature, quickly followed by an equally harmonious and delicately seasoned rolling baseline. Studpendous was the thought as "The End" pasted a grin on my face. The mastering treatment shows no immediate signs of weakness: an impressive task considering the contrast between the expertly executed highs, and the strong bellowing lows. Compression was dialed in meticulously, with just the right edge and depth on the layered kick. Synth chords shine in their simplicity and presence is phenomenal. Levels are perfection. Filter treatments are timed and employed with balance and resonance leaves room for a taste of organic purity. I would fault nothing, but call any disagreements on sample choice simply a matter of taste.
When the beat kicks in, all you're thinking is, "Damn. this is good"

| I found this track to be very enjoyable. Full, but not overcrowded. It pleased me to see an artist not afraid to let his samples speak - and of the samples - they appeared to be meticulously chosen and massaged into sequence. Very Articulate. I would assume the use of a primarily hardware based composition from the quality of the sampling. Phenomenal. reviewed on: 2009-09-29 01:57:18 |

| Michael Colucci's Progressive melodies in A/C exemplified Professional Structure, timing and build. His prowess with production software (hardware?) is complimented by his very capable mastering treatment. No spikes or unpleasant imbalances distract the listener, though sometimes the highs in the track feel a little too bright. I could not hear evidence of over driven components. Samples are clean and purposefully chosen. Filter treatments are not excessive and passes are timed appropriately. A/C is an original synth work with well balanced rolling baselines. Definitely Feels purely synthetic, where organic accents may have lended to the track's appeal. I had to pick hard and look deep to criticize this track. Colucci deserves the attention his productions are bringing him. I'd Love to hear the full resolution MP3 over a hifi reference system. Steaming audio left the experience slightly hollow; however, we're just talking about the test drive.
