Armin Van Buuren - Going Wrong by risda |
Sorry, but this is pretty awful. Catchy, but awful.
I hear there's too much DJ Shah in there, and that my friends, is not a good thing at ALL.
Looks like Armin is following in the footsteps of Oakenfold... 4/10 ![]() ![]() ![]() reviewed on: 2008-05-01 16:49:26 96800 |
Alphabetically Speaking by DJ TripVanwinkle |
Awesome stuff Mr. Winkle! This really brings back the memories of the good Grand Central days. You'd be a shoe-in for that label.
Hope to see you signed and out with an album soon! 10/10 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() reviewed on: 2007-11-10 03:26:55 92299 |

When It All Goes Away by The Electric Slaves |
This could be really good, but it's somehow missing something vital. I think you need to use some reverb, especially on the bassline, and you need some pads. It sounds a bit to chopped up as it is. If you could melt the elements together a bit better (using FX and pads), it could be a very nice track!
My opinion anyway, great start though :) 8/10 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() reviewed on: 2007-10-28 17:40:04 92023 |
| (response from artist) I was thinking about pads for it yesterday, and was fooling around some with it, but couldn't come up with anything great, so I left it as is before submitting it. Glad someone else thinks what I think though, I'll keep messing around with it. I'm thinking a chorus sounding 'AH' or maybe some strings with EQ fixed to have an 'AH' sound to it... Dunno, thanks for the review tho. |
I Feel You by Jacques Onderwater |
Right, you probably realize this already, but you basslines are obviously good. I'm just missing a chunkier beat and some strings. But I dunno, maybe that's not the sound you're going for. The elements you have work very well though :) 8.5/10 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() reviewed on: 2007-09-26 13:14:25 91144 |
| (response from artist) Thanks man, i took all the sounds thru a phaser effect, so this is really what i wanted with it. I am going to finish the track with some vocals (lyrics) |

This is simply flawless; love this track. Wish I could give you some more constructive feedback, but I simply can't think of any :) 10/10 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() reviewed on: 2007-07-30 11:09:54 89202 |
Restless Sleep by ALEX BIAGI |
You need more atmospheric pads and defo need to replace that kick, that pounding electro drum is not a good fit for this track, and the hihats are too sharp IMO.
That said; the melodies and the progression of the track is spot on, it just needs more...well atmosphere really, make it more fluid sounding, that kick is really messing up that.
I mean this in a good way mind you, this tracks has tons of potential :) 8.5/10 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() reviewed on: 2007-07-29 08:37:37 89129 |

Only one thing I notice is that the kick is maybe a smidgen too tight, I would have preferred a looser kick, and possibly some looser hihats thrown in there too somewhere. But that's my preferrence, can't fault the quality of the track though. Props! 10/10 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() reviewed on: 2007-07-28 08:56:20 89111 |

1 member(s) found the following review helpful: I'm kinda confused. I like the track alot actually, but switches pace and elements and I'm kinda left guessing at the mood you're going for here. The bells at about 2:00 are supercool, love those. And the mastering and sound quality is great, use of pads is great. I'd just prefer it to stick more with one theme, does that make sense? Anywho, sounds great, I'd bump it to 9.5 if I'd see more continuity in it :) 8.5/10 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() reviewed on: 2007-07-28 06:31:58 89105 |
| (response from artist) The end of this Mp3 is actually the beginning of a new song. I am kind of confused about your review because I would say my phrasing and structure would be strongest and my mastering on the other hand limited. Your probably not used to the beat coming back like that at about 3:20. That was a very desired affect. The song does have 1 underlying them, I just hate having every trance song having the exact same lay-out. I am intrigued by the different responses I am getting from the artists on this website. Alas, however I must disagree with your remarks involving the structure of the song...I love the structure and No matter how many people are going to tell me what they expect I will give them something they don't!!! |

1 member(s) found the following review helpful: The idea is good, but it needs work on a few areas. Mainly I think you need to master it properly and make the elements blend better. That, and you need to work on the beat, it sounds pretty generic, you'd probably be better off using samples of real drums, this sounds very "drum machine", and doesn't go well with the more organic sound that the piano gives. Anywho, this sounds like a total butchering, but it isn't. The track is pretty good, and the pads are great! Keep it up! 7.5/10 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() reviewed on: 2007-07-28 06:19:40 89104 |

Above The Sea (Sunrise Mix) by Starryson |
Great melody, first of all. The bassline sounds a bit static and need some effects or tweaking; it shines through a bit much and needs to blend better IMO.
Also missing some pads in the intro.
Other than that: slamming. Great work! 9.5/10 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() reviewed on: 2007-04-01 15:02:16 85513 |
