Miami 2008

:

The new annual compilation is mixed by three of the UK’s most recognised mix masters. At the controls you will enjoy selections from renowned radio presenter Aaron Ross, Defected head Simon Dunmore and production genius ATFC giving us a wide slice of the sound you would encounter at the conference.

“I think my CD is the most soulful of the three. It’s starts off quite laid back but quickly picks up the pace, it goes a bit tougher in the middle and then mellows out again a bit towards the end. There are a couple of classics I’ve thrown in there for good measure and there are a lot of new upfront tracks that I’m predicting are going to be massive records”

“A particular producer went to an exotic bar and had one too many and spent too much money. He ended up leaving with one of the women from the bar - took her home and that. He woke up; only to discover that she was bald with tattoos all over her body and he thought it was great! The next day he had this phone call…”

“‘Ya Killin Me’ on Toolroom will hopefully see a few spins. Quentin Harris' 'My Joy' has had a massive reaction in every club I've played in recently. Funkerman’s ‘Speed Up’ on Defected is gaining some heat and with the ATFC mix it’s set to go stratospheric!!! I think my Miami mix reflects the kind of tunes that are going to be prominent this year.”

In a move akin to Glastonbury Festival’s ‘fallow’ policy, we skipped a year to allow the turf to recover, but Defected Records are back. The UK’s best known quality House label returns to Florida for an exclusive Winter Music Conference special at Miami’s most stylish venue – Set.
