In creating a song inspired by "horrible insomnia", instead of presenting the listener with a track that evokes the frustration, desperate tossing & turing, racing thoughts, anxiety and seemingly infinite discomfort associated with sleeplessness, sOuL_sCientiSt bestows upon us an electronic lullaby. Soothing, sleepy, non-threatening tones and hums fill the air and lull one into a world of blissful semi-consciousness.. The background voices recall the liminal state of wakefulness when is aware of the presence of others but not ready to exit "I still have five more minutes before I will return from my womb-like slumber, perhaps I will even dream once more." Dissonant sonic gulps are present but fleeting enough so as to not disrupt the dreamtime and leave us with beauty forged from exasperation. (Posted on: Apr 25, 2009)
