Version 2.0: Fixed vox. * After receiving lots of support and positive response on "Kick Back" I promised to do a follow up. Well, this is it. * A blent of ambient/slow breaks, this track sets a relaxing atmosphere. * Feel the crisp percussion, which is slightly tweaked throughout the entire track. If you liked "Kick Back, " you are going to LOVE this track. * Sampling credit goes to DJ Puzzle (scratch); Cindy Sings (vocals); and iDJ's own ZilverFace (atmospheric sample from his track "El Presidente" [available on http://www.myspace.com/zilverfaze]) The rest of the track is unsampled and 100% original. Turn it up, close your eyes, relax, and enjoy!

As The guy before said, the beat is unconventional but i love the uniqueness it brings to the track. Personally i would have had the scratch samples a little more suppressed at some points, but thats just taste.

There's a lot of basic sounds in there which sound really great too. Like the reverse symbols introducing new phrases periodically and the fluttering piano melody.

I gave the melody an 8 but in actual fact that was more to do with the idea that for me, a 10 for melody would have to something really special that has that WOW factor to it. And although this track doesn't have it, it doesn't need it because it works better without any one sound dominating.

In fact i enjoyed it so much that perhaps a pointer would be to extend the track a little and develop that piano melody again later on, so i could enjoy it for longer.

An awesome track, and after listening to most of your work on here easily my favourite (Posted on: Jan 3, 2008)

I like this track, the drum samples you used are pretty unconventional. I like the vocal sample too, and the pan pipe or whatever wind instrument it is. I agree with s0nus about the strings, they sounds like one of the instruments you get on keyboards. If you sampled an actual orchestra it would sound better, or just keep experimenting with effects until you make it sound more realistic. Also if you had a quiet repeating violin melody over the top of the main bass strings that would sound cool, just an idea. The piano is cool as well. This is a nice, chilled breaks track *thumbs up* (Posted on: Jan 1, 2008)
(response from artist) Interesting pointers. I believe the string sample is actually a real orchestral sample, but the notes are evenly volumized, which gives it the keyboardy sounding feel, probably should have spent a bit more time on this. I will try to incorporate this in the next track. Thanks for the listen.

Feels great when it started. I really liked the beat. Was a bit weird to hear a glitchy IDM type of drum on a laid back tune but I like it. I also liked the chill atmosphere with the Strings on the background but Hemi is spot on about adding complex chords. I didn't expect the vocals but it was a nice addition. At first I wasn't a fan of the flute but after listening to it for some time I think u did a nice work. The flute has a melancholic side imo so it doesn't sound out of place. The piano is cooler and fits better. Man I appreciate the creativity u put in here. I think U can remix this with synths and additional elements if u are interested cause this has some space. The ending was a bit abrupt. You could have ended it slowly. Thanks for makin this downloadble (Wouldn't have streamed because of my sloww connection :)Overall wikked tune u have here bro. Keep em comin!

The intro has a weird way of sucking you in, its very well produced. One problem is that you seem to glitch the pad as well, this sounds more like a computer glitch than an artistic one. Once the vox hits I would say that I'm sold. The strings in the background might sound a tad too plastic for me, but the actual notes work incredibly well. I wonder if you could pack even more emotion into the track if you actually tried using more complex chords instead of just the root notes, I bet you could. The glitch work (on the percs) really compliments the overall feeling of this track and gives it that modern glow. I could do without the flute bit, it just seems out of place in such a melancholy track. The piano arpeggio is actually much more suited IMO. Overall the track might be a little repetitive but its in no way annoying. I commend you for putting up such an emotional track, its not often around here :) (Posted on: Sep 5, 2007)

(response from artist) Thank you my friend. All the credit, sans glitching, on the intro goes to Zilverfaze. He let me use a sample from his track "El Presidente" which essentially inspired the rest of this track. I just loved that weird sci-fi feel of the sample with the insect chirping and such. Great observation on the strings. I seem to forget to use chords a lot of the time, no real explanation for it. I totally see your point on the piano arp as well. In hindsight I could see that as being the highlight instead of the flute; though I think thee flute adds an eccentric vibe. Really appreciate the insight on this one. I commend you on your review, it is unusual to get such good input and detail around here. Looking forward to hearing something new from you soon.

Oh man this is spectacular! Not conformed by the "industry standard" composition, love that. Only one thing I notice is that the kick is maybe a smidgen too tight, I would have preferred a looser kick, and possibly some looser hihats thrown in there too somewhere.
But that's my preferrence, can't fault the quality of the track though. Props! (Posted on: Jul 28, 2007)

(response from artist) Thanks, interesting sugestion on the drums. Maybe I will try a combo of different perc sets on the next similar track. Thanks!
