Tiesto failed to retain his crown for the 4th straight year and drops down to second with Armin Van Buuren holding on to his number 3 spot from Sasha. Other movement in the chart saw roadtripping legend Carl Cox move into the top ten while Paul Oakenfold drops to 11th. The big shakers this year were trance trio Above & Beyond jumping a massive 20 places to 19th and Richie Hawtin up 32 places to 12th while new entry Infected Mushroom stormed into 26th. Notable losers this year were Christopher Lawrence down 7 and Sander Kleinenberg down 8 but both remain in the exclusive top 20 club.
The announcement caps a great year for Van Dyk with his new album "The Politics of Dancing 2" receiving praise from the critics, us included. Be sure to listen in on Paul's latest mix set exclusively on InternetDJ and watch a video clip of the man himself DJ'ing in San Francisco.

I'm glad Paul van Dyk won first place. All you here these days is Tiesto this and Tiesto that. Personally I think Ferry Corsten should be no. 1. His sets are always very emotional and have feeling to them, Tiesto don't. Someday I'll get my wish and Ferry will be no. 1. Posted on: 2005-12-11 18:30:50
How about a track listing - loving the mix. Posted on: 2005-11-04 06:18:53
How the hell is push so far down?????? He should have is own chart as he is above everbody else nobody comes close! Posted on: 2005-11-02 20:06:14
Risda, that's a good idea. Along with that, I think someone or a group should still oversee the rankings. And adjust them accordingly, I don't want to see armin get first place just because he has a highly rated A State of Trance weekly set. Posted on: 2005-10-29 11:35:32
Perhaps a form entry screen that captures the rating of a night they attended: DJ Name Venue Date of performance City/State/Country Performance Rating So we'd base the rankings on how this DJ performed throughout the year across all tour dates. I'd call it "The IDJ True Top 100". Posted on: 2005-10-29 11:23:04
